My family was not a part of the nursery families, but I knew many of the grandchildren who attended Kennedy and El Cerrito High schools. Everybody moved onto college and became professionals. Thus, there was nobody but the older generation Niseis to continue the nurseries with help from hired laborers. Anyways, hope this preservation effort is successful before the history of Japanese in Richmond is totally forgotten!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6932653227899217551.post-11698369629656286702009-10-14T01:48:30.249-07:002009-10-14T01:48:30.249-07:00Nu, Thanks for visiting today. I am not speaking from experience, but have many friends who have suffered the effects of going through wars. My heart goes out to you. I thank God that you made it through and believe that the Lord will use your experiences to minister to others. Thanks for your kind words.
Blessings,
Chere BrownAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14245843020446561585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6932653227899217551.post-76412357742007291142009-10-13T19:25:37.598-07:002009-10-13T19:25:37.598-07:00To Chere - I found your blog via a link on Alltop-...To Chere - I found your blog via a link on Alltop- the subject of the post intrigued me. I found it interesting how it affected the small Japanese community right here in Richmond.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14245843020446561585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6932653227899217551.post-48583640462118578332009-10-08T02:48:54.444-07:002009-10-08T02:48:54.444-07:00This was an interesting look at a period of Americ...This was an interesting look at a period of American history, culture and nursery business. It's good that we never forget that hurt caused to our fellow Americans by fear. Good post. Thanks.Jackiehttp://www.beeaware.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
